May brought so many special moments and memories that filled my cup with so much joy.
My month started off with the Drayton Valley and Coleman Pro Rodeo weekends, followed by the Red Deer Airport Gala and a trip to our longest standing sponsor, CFCW!
I was so thrilled to spend Mothers Day back in my hometown of Sundre at the Sundre Fly In Breakfast. We had the unique opportunity of going for a helicopter ride and flew over the town of Sundre, the Sundre Rodeo grounds and my home in Bergen, which was such a fun experience!
Over May Long Weekend, I was so grateful to make my way to Falkland BC for the Falkland Stampede! This was the first time Miss Rodeo Canada had been back to Falkland in several years, and it was such an honour to have the opportunity to see one of the longest standing Canadian Rodeos in action. We had both rain and shine through the weekend and the crowd did not weaken, which showed just how great this little community is! While in BC, I made a trip toDearborn Ford and was welcomed with open arms and a confetti cannon, by some of the BC@camclarkautomotive group. This was such a fun experience!
This month we had the honour of celebrating Mackenzie Skeels (Miss Rodeo Canada 2023) wedding! It is so exciting for us to watch our MRC alumni moving on to their next chapters in life and it was an honour to be able to celebrate this special day with her.
My next adventure was north to 'Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement Gateway to the North' Pro Rodeo. This is C5 Rodeo's hometown rodeo and was incredibly special to watch them honour their stock and bring community together in their beautiful new facility!
I wrapped up this month in an exciting way, started by attending 'Leduc Black Gold Pro Rodeo' for the Thursday night performance then driving to Lethbridge for my University Convocation the next morning. It was so exciting to walk the stage to officially mark the completion of my Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education combined degree and being awarded with the Senate Scholarship. Then made our way back for the Leduc evening performance. I had the best applause of congratulations led by Dennis Halstead and the Leduc Black Gold Rodeo fans which made me feel so special! Thank you to Leduc committee to allow me to attend my convocation, and Cam Clark Auto Group for getting me there.
As we now roll into June and gear up for the summer run, I am so excited for all that is yet to come!
