February began with a few visits to sponsors in Calgary: Lammle’s Western Wear, KT Beauty, and Janine’s Custom Creations.

My travels then took me to Jackson, where I joined Olivia, which was such a memorable trip. From visiting the Mississippi State Capitol to the Mississippi Governor’s Mansion and attending the first few performances of the Dixie National Rodeo, it was a wonderful experience. I was also able to swing a leg over a few great horses in Mississippi, making sure to find time to crack out a young four-year-old around the barrels in the practice pen.

My travels then moved me to Kissimmee, where Olivia and I met many state queens. The trip began with school visits and trying Florida cuisine. We also went to Wild Florida to spot alligators and even catch a possum. On our non-queen day, we spent time at the beach and later went hog hunting.

The last few days were spent at the Silver Spurs Rodeo, where there were many Canadians to cheer on in all four performances.

In the final days of February, I had the opportunity to do a few media interviews with CTV Television Network before spending time at Telemiracle 50 in Saskatchewan. I had such a meaningful experience at Telemiracle, from watching Saskatchewan raise over 10 million dollars to spending time with some very special people. Being included in this Saskatchewan tradition, which marks the third-largest telethon in the world, was beyond what words can describe.

February was all about showcasing our Canadian rodeo athletes and representing Canadian rodeo tradition in the southern states!
