October was a month filled with celebration, connection, and moments that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life. The month began on the biggest stage in Canadian rodeo, Rogers Place, for the 2025 Canadian Finals Rodeo. Being part of CFR as Miss Rodeo Canada was an honour unlike anything I’ve experienced. Walking alongside our top Canadian athletes as they chased and achieved their dreams made me feel more pride than I ever could have imagined. After sharing the road with so many of these competitors throughout the season, getting to stand beside them as they showcased their very best at the Finals was truly unforgettable. The Canadian Finals Rodeo is an event that every rodeo ambassador dreams of, and fulfilling that dream in the capacity of Miss Rodeo Canada left an impression on my heart that I will carry with me forever.
October also marked the conclusion of our Miss Rodeo Canada competition, where we crowned our 2026 ambassador, Abbey Harty, the former Miss Rodeo Agribition 2025. Watching Abbey step confidently into this role filled me with excitement for what lies ahead for her. I know she will represent our program, our athletes, and our country with grace, passion, and heart as she takes the reins on January 1, 2026.
One of the highlights of this year’s CFR was welcoming seven of my state queen friends to Canada. Throughout my journey as Miss Rodeo Canada, I’ve been fortunate to build friendships with ambassadors from across the United States, and having them join me for the Canadian Finals Rodeo was such an honour. I loved giving them a true Canadian experience - cheering at the performances, attending the Canadian Country Expo, watching parts of our pageant, and soaking up the electric energy that only CFR can offer. After the Finals wrapped up, the girls came home with me to extend their Canadian adventure, and we made even more memories that I will forever cherish.
I was thrilled to show them the beauty of Banff National Park, take them on a trail ride in my home community, and share the magic of our Rocky Mountains. We even toured the Calgary Stampede grounds thanks to the generosity of the 2025 Calgary Stampede Princess, Breanna Correia, and capped off their trip with a stop at Maggie’s Diner so they could live out their Heartland dreams. Having the opportunity to introduce my friends to the places and experiences that mean so much to me reminded me of how incredibly lucky I am, not just to represent Canada, but to build friendships with remarkable women from all over the world.
From there, I was off on one of the biggest adventures of my entire reign - a trip to Australia, made possible by the incredible support of G & T Custom Farming. This was truly the journey of a lifetime, and over the course of two and a half weeks, I created memories I never could have dreamed of. I attended two rodeos, spent time with Miss Rodeo Australia, and was welcomed with open arms by the fantastic crew in Warwick, who made sure I experienced Australia in the most authentic way possible. I rode in an Australian stock saddle, visited 13 different schools, represented Canada proudly in a parade, participated in eight rodeo performances, and even carried our Canadian flag in the arena, an honour that meant so much to me so far from home.
Beyond the rodeo arena, I was introduced to what I now firmly believe is the best coffee in the world, swam in two different oceans, visited the Australia Zoo, pet a kangaroo, and traveled 15 hours across Australia, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture along the way. Every day offered something new to discover, and everywhere I went, I met people who welcomed me, shared their stories, and reminded me of the unique way rodeo builds community no matter where you are in the world.
None of this would have been possible without G & T Custom Farming. Their support of the Miss Rodeo Canada program extends far beyond sponsorship—they are about building community, creating meaningful experiences, and opening doors for ambassadors like myself to connect with the world in ways that leave a lasting impact. This trip was not just travel; it was growth, connection, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity made special because of their generosity and belief in what the Miss Rodeo Canada program represents. I will forever be grateful to them for giving me an experience that expanded my world and filled my heart in ways I will never forget.
Looking back on October, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the athletes who inspired me, the friendships that deepened, the opportunities that took me across the globe, and the people who make this role so meaningful. This month was a reminder of the incredible community that surrounds rodeo, both here at home and around the world, and I feel so blessed to have been part of it all.
