March 2022 - Jayden Calvert

March 2022 has come and gone which means it is officially spring! Spring is the season

of new life, and so far, it has brought lot of beginnings. From bull fighting schools to bull sales,

March took Miss Rodeo Canada on brand new adventures that are still extremely relevant to our

western industry!

Thank you to Brett and Amy Monea for welcoming me to the Ultimate Bull Fighting

Experience in Rimbey, AB on March 6 th with members from 4-H Alberta! I’d also like to thank

the young people of Lakeland College’s Student Managed Farm for the invite to their 2 nd Annual

Round-Up Sale on March 26 th . A huge congratulations must be expressed for their successes this

school year in raising and marketing quality livestock of both bovine and equine varieties! These

two events presented me with the opportunity to connect with youth in agriculture and promote

the importance of their continued education and exposure.

It was an honour to be invited to attend the inaugural Cowboy Kicks charity event in the

Peavy Mart Centrium at Westerner Park in Red Deer. The home of the Canadian Finals Rodeo

hosted a triumphant fundraiser for the Westerner Foundation and the Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports

Medicine Team with patrons donating generously and all attendees having a fantastic time! The

highlight of my evening on March 18th was meeting Canadian country music icon, Brett Kissel!

He was the headliner that night. I’m sure Cowboy Kicks will return year after year, and I highly

recommend buying tickets!

A trip to Red Deer means that I get to enjoy the hospitality of the Baymont by Wyndham.

Thank you to Corey and his team once again for the pleasant stay! My appearances in

March also created the perfect setting to show off my freshly shaped Smithbilt hats and shiny

Montana Silversmiths belt buckle!

Just in time for spring I picked up my 2022 Ram 1500 Sport from Innisfail Chrysler! The

truck is beautifully decorated with the logos of my highly valued MRC 2022 sponsors and

Cowan Graphics generously donated this service. Watch for me driving across the west when I

officially hit the Pro Rodeo Canada trail in April! I am looking forward to the St. Paul High

School Rodeo, Horse Expo Canada, Dawson Creek Spring Breakup Rodeo and Drayton Valley

Pro Rodeo next month!
