- Miss Rodeo Canada
December 2022 - Mackenzie Skeels
Hello everyone! So excited for my upcoming year and to keep you updated every month on my

travels! Starting off this December I meet with our official photographer ‘Leslie Dawn Photography’ for my first photo session that was used for my autograph sheets. There was so much to get done before my first appearance. From there I meet with some of my sponsors such as Smithbilt Hats, Aria Studios, Lammle’s Western Wear for my Dan Post Boots and Janine’s Custom Creations so I could start the year off looking my best!
Next up, I had the opportunity to attend National Western Agribition for the Maple Leaf Finals in Regina. This was a very special way for me to start my year as I have gone to this event in the past because of the cattle industry my family is involved in. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. Speaking of familiar faces, during my time at Agribition I made sure to stop by Lammles Western Wear to get a Wrangler outfit for the rodeo and was able to hang out with the great C5 Rodeo crew. My favorite part of Agribition is the diversity of all the events that are happening during the week. From the livestock shows, stock dog competition, to the rodeo, people from all different walks of life, and the agriculture industry come together as one to be a part of this outstanding production.

After my week in Regina, I flew down to Las Vegas for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to cheer on both our four legged and two legged Canadian athletes, both four legged and two legged. Congratulations to Zeke Thurston, your 2022 Saddle Bronc World Champion! During my time in Las Vegas I was able to meet some of the wonderful sponsors (Dan Post Boots, Montana Silversmiths & Wrangler) that are helping me look good on the rodeo trail this year. It was such an honor to be able to dress up as Miss Rodeo Canada for a day and sign autographs at the Montana Silversmiths booth alongside our outgoing queen Jayden Calvert. During Canada night I cheered on Jayden as she carried our nation's flag with pride in the Thomas & Mack Center. December was a great month for me to start off my new journey as Miss Rodeo Canada 2023! I look forward to what the future holds.

With Gratitude,
Mackenzie Skeels
