December 2021 - Jayden Calvert
Hello! I’m Jayden! Nice to meet you!
On November 5th, 2021 my lifelong dream of becoming Miss Rodeo Canada came true as my name and Miss Rodeo Sundre title were announced during the third performance of the 47th Canadian Finals Rodeo.
The maple leaf shaped Montana Silversmiths crown and I will hopefully have a full and
productive year in 2022, but the adventures have already begun for me!
I had the opportunity to attend the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo when cowboys and cowgirls were welcomed back to fabulous Las Vegas for 10 days of celebrating the champions of our sport. I was able to attend the final few events of the Miss Rodeo America pageant and congratulated MRA 2022 Hailey Frederiksen in person!
I also got acquainted with some of Miss Rodeo Canada’s state-side sponsors like Montana Silversmiths, Dan Post Boots and Fellowship of Christian Cowboys while browsing the famous Cowboy Christmas market. December 9th was Canada Night at the WNFR and I had the privilege of doing a presentation lap during grand entry as MRC 2020/2021 Alicia Erickson was busy delighting the crowd at the Thomas and Mack with her rendition of our national anthem. That was an honor I will never forget!
The rest of December involved meeting more of our valued sponsors like Liz at Aria Studios and having a photoshoot with Leslie Dawn Photography! We are excited to have these partnerships continue in 2022. My holiday season began with participating in the Cochrane and Area Events Society’s Stuff-a-Bus campaign where I assisted Santa Claus himself with spreading Christmas cheer on December 11th.
My first official trip as Miss Rodeo Canada will be to the WESA Markets in Dallas, Texas in January and I can’t wait to escape the cold weather for a weekend! From Dallas I will fly to Denver, Colorado for the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo.
I am looking forward to meeting you all down the rodeo road in 2022!
