Britteny Foster, Miss Grande Prairies Stompede
Born and raised in Peace River, 21-year-old barrel racer, Britteny Foster reached another milestone in May 2008 by capturing the Miss Grande Prairie Stompede title.
Britteny is on her way to completing her Bachelor of Education Secondary degree at the University of Alberta specializing in working with special needs students. In between studies and rodeos, she finds time to volunteer in her community with the SPCA, Special Olympics, Harmon Valley Pro Rodeo, and Community Services in Peace River. Britteny would like to thank her family, friends and sponsors for their endless support along the way!
Dana Hansen, Miss Rodeo Airdrie
22 year old Dana Hansen is a young woman who embodies the western way of life and is proud to call Beaumont, Alberta home.
Her love of people, combined with her love of horses, has led her to be actively involved with special needs rodeos, training performance horses, and maintaining a strong connection with 4 – H.
She’s strongly supported in her dream by her mother, father, and five brothers as well as many new rodeo fans. Her reign as Miss Rodeo Airdrie has fuelled her passion to vie for the title of Miss Rodeo Canada!
Heather Mills, Miss Rodeo Stavely
Heather grew up on a farm near DeWinton, where she still lives and works today.
After graduation Heather attended College and focused on Business Administration. In her spare time, she taught riding lessons, participated and coached public speaking at 4H and volunteered with the Calgary Stampede Blacksmith Committee, all of which she is still active in today. Presently she’s enrolled in photography at SAIT and currently works in the retail industry.
One of her fondest memories as Miss Rodeo Stavely was participating in the Alberta Wish Trail Ride which raises money for the Children's Wish Foundation, making a difference in so many children’s lives. Heather looks forward to the Miss Rodeo Canada Competition - she knows that the experience and newly made long lasting friendships will stay with her forever.
Katie Cull, Miss Rodeo Jasper Princess
Katie is 20 years old and resides in Hinton Alberta.
To say that she’s active in Rodeo doesn’t tell the whole story! Katie is an active member of the Alberta Barrel Racing Association and is competitive in gymkhana. Outside of the Rodeo arena, Katie loves basketball and doing anything outdoors!
Katie is has also been a member of the Rocky Mountain Riders Drill Team and prior to that was a member of the Chinook and Iron Creek Riders out of Hinton. She’s always been known for loving the outdoors and staying active.
She is excited about her role as Miss Rodeo Jasper Princess, and can't wait to Represent Jasper Heritage Rodeo and the community of Jasper, AB in the 2010 Miss Rodeo Canada Pageant!
Nicki Westersund Miss Rodeo Okotoks
Nicki is 19 years old and hails from Blackie, AB.
Raised on her 4th generation family farm, she’s spent years in 4-H clubs, competed in western light horse shows and has a passion for reining and western performance horses. Nicki feels privileged to represent the town of Okotoks and is grateful for the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Rodeo Canada.
Currently Nicki is at the University of Lethbridge, focused on a Bachelors Degree in Management & Marketing. Holding the title of Miss Rodeo Okotoks has helped Nicki learn valuable skills that have assisted her in promoting the town of Okotoks.
Nicki owes her success to her family who’ve supported and taught her that humor and love will take you farther than perfection and brilliance. Never be afraid to make mistakes and be yourself!
Rae-Leigh Pederzolli, Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Queen
Rae-Leigh was born and raised on a ranch just west of Medicine Hat and has had many fulfilling experiences along the way!
She graduated from Medicine Hat High School in 2007. From there she attended Medicine Hat College in studies of anthropology, psychology and recently finished her first year of general engineering.
Rae-Leigh has competed in horse shows, barrel racing, steer riding and junior bull riding over the past ten years and her latest passion has turned into trick riding. She was the 2008 Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Queen which has led her to the Miss Rodeo Canada competition. She is looking forward to the people she’ll meet and the many new challenges throughout the competition!
