Sheila Taylor
Miss Rodeo Canada 2000

On November 12, 1999, Canada crowned its new millennium queen during the 26h annual Canadian Finals Rodeo.

Possibly the most shocked and excited person at Skyreach Centre that evening was the former Miss Rodeo Airdrie, Sheila Taylor. Sheila was completely surprised with her win, although those who attended the Miss Rodeo Canada Pageant recognized the solid strength she displayed in all the categories throughout the competition. She brought valuable experience to the title from her years in 4-H and time spent as a Calgary Stampede show rider.

This beautiful, blue-eyed, 20-year-old hails from Didsbury, Alberta. She literally raised the Miss Rodeo Canada crown to new heights on her statuesque 5' 11" frame.

Sheila's height will also definitely be an asset to her chosen career of equine massage therapy, where she plans to utilize her certificate in therapeutic massage from the Alberta Institute of Massage.

Sheila, an all around high school athlete, appreciated the individual competition aspect of rodeo. The travelling, camaraderie and thrill of new experiences attracted Sheila to the Miss Rodeo Canada title. She recognizes that rodeo is one of the few sports that has stayed true to its traditional roots.

Sheila is proud to have carried the historic values of rodeo proudly into the new millennium as the first lady of Canadian pro-rodeo.
