Born and raised in Beautiful British Columbia, Kirsten Johnson always had a love for the great outdoors but especially for the sport of rodeo. After her reign as the 2009 Williams Lake Stampede Queen Kirsten went off to compete at the 2011 Miss Rodeo Canada Competition where she was crowned Miss Rodeo Canada Princess 2011 along side winning the public speaking and horsemanship awards. Kirsten was honored to share her year along side the amazing Kezia Morrison, Miss Rodeo Canada 2011. The two travelled all across Canada and the United States of America representing the sport they loved and the country that they both are proud to call home. Kirsten’s year was filled with getting to know many wonderful new people and experiencing once in a lifetime opportunities. One thing that she has taken away from her year as Miss Rodeo Canada Princess 2011 is that the western way of life is alive and well in our beautiful country and that we should all be proud of the rodeo community we have created!
Kirsten is currently following her dreams of becoming a teacher by studying at the University of Lethbridge; her time spent in schools as Miss Rodeo Canada Princess 2011 inspired her to want to make a difference in the lives of our youth and what better way is there to do that than becoming a teacher! She still continues to support the sport of rodeo in Canada by attending as many rodeos as she can in the summer and by participating in the Alumni program for Miss Rodeo Canada. She hopes that other girls will go out and follow their dreams, no matter how big or small they may be.
