August September MRC Article
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No it’s not Christmas. It’s Back to School! I have four younger Brothers, three of them still in school so I can’t help but tease them around this time of year.
As I sit writing this, I cannot believe how quickly this summer has flown by. In August I attended Strathmore Heritage Days. What a great rodeo! My favourite part was the Running of the Bulls! If you’ve never seen it, I highly recommend adding Strathmore Rodeo to your Calendar next summer.
After that I had a brief holiday with my family and then it was off to Rocky Mountain House for David Thompson Days. Fun for the whole family, this event offered Gymkhana, a Horse show and my favourite the Ranch Rodeo. From there I was off to Lethbridge for Whoop up days. An extremely busy week, I visited Nursing homes, hospitals, was a part of the parade and got to ride in the rodeo.
Over the September Long weekend I will be at the Okotoks Pro Rodeo. I am so excited! Even though I am not from Okotoks, going there is like going home. Last year during the Okotoks rodeo, I handed down my Okotoks Crown and all I could think of was how proud I would be to bring the Miss Rodeo Canada Title to Okotoks. And I did it! It’s going to be a Great Rodeo; I hope to see you all there!
Fall is my favourite time of year. Kids are going back to school and reuniting with their friends and teachers. It means Thanksgiving, Halloween and Harvest are on the way, all family orientated Events. I hope everyone enjoys spending some time with their Families this fall season.
God Bless,
Aaron Courchesne
