Helping Out Back Home

April was another slow month for me, but that is alright because soon I will be really busy!

I went to the Sundre Fish and Game Fundraiser; I have been attending this event for about three years now so they were really excited to have me back as Miss Rodeo Canada. I helped sell tickets for a few of the different draws that they had and I handed out all of the awards for the hunting categories. I also had my picture taken with the president of the Sundre Fish & Game Association for the newspaper. It again was a wonderful success and was well attended.

I was very excited to be at the Mane Event in Red Deer where I joined the Canadian Cowboy Country booth and signed lots of autographs for the large number of kids that were there for this wonderful weekend. They also had me hand out the awards to the champion trainer from the trainer challenge. I gave Martyn Black a beautiful pair of custom sliver engraved spurs.

I still like to help out with the Sundre Royalty Pageant when I have the chance, and I was able to help and MC their contestants steak dinner and fashion show this year. They girls did an awesome job of modeling and impromptus. They all did an awesome job of their opening number where they did the “Bubba Dance”.

And that wraps up my April. I am very excited to start the rodeo season and all the other events that the rest of my year has in store for me!

God Bless,
Arleta Bowhay
